How It Started
We started Future Antique in 2020 because Nashville's underground bass music scene needed something different. The city was growing fast, bringing in new venues and promoters, but a lot of what made underground music special was getting lost in the shuffle. Proper sound system culture, the kind with bass you feel in your chest and a community that cares about the music, not just the night out, was hard to find.
So we did what any dedicated music enthusiasts would do: we bought a pair of Cerwin Vega folded horn subs and started throwing our own parties. Warehouses, DIY spaces, anywhere we could set up a proper rig and let the bass breathe. We wanted to bring back what sound system culture is really about. Not the polished club experience with bottle service, but raw energy, quality sound, and people who appreciate both.
What began with a small team and one pair of subs has evolved into something we're genuinely proud of. We've proven that you can maintain underground values while building something sustainable. Quality doesn't have to mean exclusive. Good curation doesn't have to mean pretentious. And respecting the history of sound system culture doesn't mean you can't push it forward.
